Job Description:

Section 2:Youth Minister

The Minister of Youth shall be a Southern Baptist. He will give general administrative leadership to the work of the Youth Ministry and give leadership to the Outreach Ministry of the church. He shall work with the pastor, deacons, and church leaders to:

Youth Minister:

  • Plan and conduct ministry to the youth of the church;
  • Provide teaching and pastoral care for youth and their families;
  • Equip the youth to do the work of ministry and service to God;
  • Any other duties as assigned by the pastor and church body.

The Director of Youth shall be called by the church upon the recommendation of an ad hoc Search committee and a vote of the church. He shall serve for as long as they and the church mutually agree that his services as youth minister are in accord with the purpose of God. He will agree to the teachings of the current Southern Baptist Faith & Message.

The committeee shall bring only one name at a time for consideration by the church. The vote to call shall take place at a called business meeting following the Sunday morning worship. The vote shall be by paper ballot. An affirmative vote of at least eighty percent (80%) of those church members present and voting at such meeting shall constitute an affirmative call. The compensation and other fringe benefits shall be those agreed upon by the incoming Minister of youth and the ad hoc Search Committee and approved by the vote of the church.

The Youth Minister, after accepting the call, shall serve until he:

  • Resigns, giving the church at least two week notice of their intention to relinquish the position, or
  • Is removed from their office by a vote of at least sixty percent (60%) of those present and voting by secret paper ballot at a called business meeting, after a two week notice in writing of the purpose of such a meeting has been given by the deacon body to the church members. In the instance of a forced termination, the severance compensation shall be determined by the pastor and the deacons and with the vote of the church
