I didn’t spend much time in the Army, just a few weeks of ROTC Summer Camp. One thing I remember well is that every squad, platoon, company, whatever, has a specific mission. They might be called on to do a number of things, but in the heat of battle, they had the mission they had trained for and for which they were equipped.
So, as it relates to Timber Ridge, what is our mission? You might say, “To glorify God” or “To reach the community for Jesus” or something else. To a great extent, you would be right. Let me ask some questions to help us think through the question.
- What does “Kingdom Growth” look like for us?
- What gifts and skills do we have? What is it that we do that we are good at?
- What is the greatest need(s) in our community?
- What has God laid on our hearts that He wants to do through us?
Everything must be planned and conducted as God leads us through prayer. After all, it is for Him that we exist. Let me know your ideas and dreams.
