If you haven’t been to the new church site in the past few days, you need to go. What a sight to see the beams and posts up and some of the floor trusts in place. God is doing a marvelous work in our midst.
Someone said that instead of asking God to bless what we are doing, we ought to get involved with what God is blessing! We need workers at the new site. Our volunteer groups are slow to commit to coming and that creates a crisis. But wait, it is not our volunteers responsibility to build the church, it is ours. It is our church building that is in need.
Timber Ridge has always had a reputation for being there for their neighbor whatever the need. In 2007, we worked for our friends nearly every Saturday for six months cleaning up ice and tornado damage. Many years, we cut fire wood for the elderly or disabled. Last year we had three teams go to Joplin to help them. Now, the time is come for us to rally around the new building and commit to work.
It is hot outside, yes. It is a busy time for young families, yes. But, this is the time that God has made and provided for us to build. We need to dedicate ourselves to making the building of this new facility a reality. The sooner it is completed, the sooner we can hold the people than have come. The more room we have the more we will be able to minister to others. When we dedicate ourselves to the task at hand, we are doing what God is blessing and God will get the honor and the glory.
You all are not good people. You are great people who make up a great church and we serve a great God.
